After the trip my coolant was low with residue on the degas bottle. I read a few threads and purchased a new degas cap.

It is easy to misdiagnose a head gasket failure because between blown head gaskets and leaking egr coolers the symptoms are about the same, but there are some tests available to see if a truck actually has a blown head gasket. When you see white smoke exerting from the exhaust, this means there is a problem with the coolant leaking.

Once egr passages burn out, coolant starts leaking to the exhaust side than to intake manifold to the combustion cylinders resulting in burning the coolant and emits white smoke at the tailpipe. Replacing that fixed that leak but i can’t find where else it could be coming from.

I was under my truck yesterday, and noticed that the power steering pump was wet. A little while after i installed the egr delete, it was leaking a tiny bit of coolant near the j pipe.

I’ve replaced lower coolant hose, the lower hose rubbed on the gearbox and got a hole. We have had egr valve, head gaskets and turbo replaced recently and truck was fine for.

This connects the egr cooler to the oil cooler housing. There is a coolant (antifreeze's proper name) hose near the back of the block that is kinda known for doing this so check that sucker out.
